Where You Are

The blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are:  and when I see the blood, I will pass over you.
Exodus 12:13

How many times have we heard or read that verse, and just skimmed right over those three words, "Where ye are."  ??   The Holy Spirit gave me a "pause here" moment a while back when I read that verse, and it made an impact on me.  Seems like I had never noticed those words, "Where ye are," and I've missed the importance of their meaning.

Haven't we all felt at one point or another in life that we'd "do better" once we "got out of this situation" or "if only our circumstances were not so bad" we'd be different.  ??

"Deliver us from this, Father, so that we can be free
to serve You (in the way that we think's best.")
(ever felt that way before?)
We need to realize that no matter where we find ourselves, God wants us to NOT WAIT "til things get better."  He wants us to become fully dependant upon Him, right here, where we are ~ the way we are!

Sure, we all would like to have a fresh start, and a clean slate.  But the chance to "start over" doesn't depend upon OUR circumstances changing.  It does, however, depend on one "Thing," and that is the shed blood of the Lamb of God.

God told the Israelites to apply the blood upon the houses WHERE THEY WERE at the moment, not where they were GOING to be in  a year or so.  And that's what He wants us to do today.  Whatever our situation may be today, we shouldn't wait for "things to change" or for "God to move us out of this circumstance" before we come to Him through Jesus.

There is power in the blood of the Lamb.  Because Jesus willingly paid the price for our sin by shedding His pure blood in our stead, we can be reconciled to God from right where we are.

We can come to Him, serve Him,
and grow "right where He's planted us."

Whatever you're going through, don't wait for things to change.  Go straight to the Savior...the Lamb of God!  The answer to your need is found in the precious blood of the Lamb.  He is the only One Who has the power to change our circumstances, when we fully rely and depend upon Him.  The One Who passed over the houses that had applied the blood of the lamb on their doorposts is THE One Who wants to transform your life.  What are you waiting for?  :)

Just as I am, without one plea,
but that thy blood was shed for me,
and that thou bidst me come to thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

  2. I also love this post and it spoke to me too.
Wonderfully true and encouraging. He wants
us right now in whatever circumstances we
find ourselves in. That blood is the only way,
the only hope for change in the heart of man.
Since He can change the sinful human heart
and make it new, He can also change any
other situation. But now is the time to serve
Him,now is the time to worship and praise Him.
    Hugs~

  3. Tammi, the song you quoted at the end is one that deeply touched my heart when I had only known Jesus personally a few years. It was at an Intervarsity Christian Fellowship Missionary Convention and there were thousands of delegates from all over our country, Asia, and other nations... I felt the overwhelming presence of Jesus and He was speaking to me - "Just as you are, right where you are... I want to touch your life."

Your post is again so timely, for as you know, I am going through a deep change, a crossroads.

I also never saw that phrase before, and what you shared on this post spoke directly to me.

    Love
    Lidia

  4. So true, Tammi! I'm so glad God meets me right where I am. So often, we mistakenly think we have to be at a certain level in our Christianity before God can move in our lives.

    A powerful message, my friend!

    Hugs...
P.S. Check out my blog for an update on my brother! ;-)

  7. I saw your comment on Lisa Shaw's blog and realized it had been much too long since I last visited you! So sorry but with full time work, I've not had the time to read all of my favorite blogs lately. But I'm so glad I came today.

Great post and much to consider. I am learning to embrace the trials in my life and learn from them. I am actually now able to smile and appreciate all I've been learning through the storm. God is good and He is with me every step of the way.

    Love,
    Debbie

Boy did this post speak to me....With all that's been going on in my life the last few months, these words went right to the heart....Yes, He does want to meet us right where we are and many times He doesn't want to change the circumstance but have us trust Him through the circumstance..

Thank you for a beautiful post...I think I need to print it and put it near me.....

    Love you girlfriend,
