Checkpoints to Finding Joy

IF YOU:
  • keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath and
  • from doing as you please on my holy day,
  • if you call the Sabbath a delight and the LORD's holy day honorable, and
  • if you honor it by not going your own way and
  • not doing as you please or
  • speaking idle words,
then you will find your joy in the LORD,

~ and ~

I will cause you to
  • ride on the heights of the land and to
  • feast on the inheritance
    of your father Jacob.
The mouth of the LORD has spoken.
Isaiah 58:13-14

In the fast paced world in which we live, it's so easy to become too busy to remember the goodness of the LORD, unless we deliberately pause and think about Him.  If we're not careful, this fast paced life style will drain the joy right out of us.
He warns us:  "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching."  (Hebrews 10:25)

If you're feeling like your Joy in the LORD is "zapped," and you're running on empty---remember, there is joy in His presence.   He is everywhere, but don't forget to go to church and be with His people.  It also seems that He is telling us to allow His Holy Spirit to do through us what we can not do, even down to controlling the very words that come out of our mouths. . . .and when we do our part, He will do His part.   We can be assured of this because the mouth of THE LORD has spoken!  ;o)
Be encouraged.

Thank You, Father, for Your patience in teaching me lessons throughout this journey.  Thank You for Your encouragement, and allowing the Son to shine through the clouds to reassure me that YOU are STILL on the throne.  One day we will spend eternity with You, in the eternal Son-shine of Your presence, and there will be no more storms nor testing of our faith.  As we seek Your face, we find there is joy in Your presence, and this is our strength.  Thank You!  In Jesus' name, Amen.

  4. Tammi, thank you for another post full of depth and insight. The Sabbath is God's provision for us that we will never burn out, or be depleted and run on empty. Sabbath rest is meant to replenish our spiritual, emotional, and physical strength. It is meant to help us refocus on Him, and Him alone.

Our family has tried our best to get together each Friday night to have a Sabbath meal together. After this meal, we have the Lord's supper and we speak words of blessing to one another.

It has not worked out yet to be a regular thing for us, but many of my friends are really observing the day of Sabbath.

Your post is a strong reminder for me to make the Sabbath rest a priority.

Thank you for your sensitivity, Tammi. The Lord strengthens His people through joy!

    Love
    Lidj

  5. Hello dear friend,
I hope you had a great weekend.

Tammi, You wrote: "When We Do Our Part..."

Well, the first thing that came to my mind when reading this was Obedience on our part, and although I know disobedience will happen along our journey, I absolutely agree with you that "He Will Do His Part."
His part, meaning HIS WILL, will be done. AMEN!

I love your precious heart for the Lord, and I don't know if you are even aware of how His light shine so brightly through you. I feel your passion for Him, and that helps me and encourages me.

    God bless you friend
A very, Very big hug from me to you,
    :o) Michele
